Playland at the Beach in San Francisco was a seaside amusement park near Ocean Beach and along the Great Highway. The original art for this Playland at the Beach T-shirt came from an old matchbook we bought here on eBay. After a high-res scan we cleaned up the details, eliminating the silverish background of the original matchbook as well the blue background of the sky. We extended the stars to reach up to the wearer of the shirt and eliminated some of the boxy quality of the design, making it look like a shirt that might have actually been designed for Playland at the Beach. I can almost hear Laffin’ Sal now.
