Covid and Art Boutiki

It has been a while since we posted any sort of update so I thought I would take a moment to post in order to answer the most commonly asked question we get here that being “What is your current Covid policy, do I need to show a vaccine card for entrance”.

Art Boutiki’s policy is to follow whatever mandate is placed on us by Santa Clara County. Currently you are required to wear a mask REGARDLESS of your vaccine status. For that reason I have decided not to require our customers to show proof of vaccination at the door. The reasoning being that since you will need to wear a mask whether you are vaccinated or not there is no need to check.

While there are some places in town that are requiring vaccine cards in order to enter they are doing this on their own. I have decided not to because I feel that we are ill-equipped to deal with the people who would want to come to Art Boutiki without a vaccine card and demanding entry. Minus the force of a mandate to check I would be opening myself up to endless arguments and things that take away from the running of the venue. Plus you are all not very co-operative when it comes to putting on a mask when it is required by law, so I cannot imagine the endless bullshit I or whoever might be working the door would have to put up with if I independently decided that you had to be vaccinated to enter Art Boutiki.

And yes, we are aware that the City of San Jose has imposed a vaccine mandate for venues with a capacity of more than 50, however that ONLY applies to city-owned facilities (SAP Center, Civic Auditorium) and not to privately run businesses.
