Takeout Tuesday Fundraiser at Art Boutiki
/The times we live in dictate that now we will call just trying to make some money a fundraiser as if we were a charity rather than a business. However, these are weird times indeed and we are far from doing our normal business. So we are back with another takeout food night, rebranded as Takeout Tuesday. Order from our menu for pickup at Art Boutiki. Beer and wine are also available (wine by the bottle only).

Also NEW SHIRT! This one declaring the Art Boutiki The King of the Music Halls
We also have a shirt inspired by something topical, a Murder Hornets US Tour shirt. By now I am sure most of you have heard that a species of hornet dubbed a murder hornet has started to pop up in the western United States (as if Covid19 wasn’t enough). Sounding very metal I designed a fake tour shirt. Now sit down and listen to a funny story about actually trying to sell this shirt.
Since this was topical and something of possible interest to people outside of the area serviced by Art Boutiki I decided to list the shirt on Amazon as I do with many of the designs we sell.
After uploading the data I got an error message back from Amazon telling me that I was unable to list the product because I was not authorized to sell pesticides.
Ha Ha I said to myself, funny little algorithm that just needs some human intervention. SO I opened a ticket and pointed out in the request that not only was this NOT a pesticide, but the word T-Shirt was in the name of the product itself.
I got what I could only assume was an automated response once again telling me that I was not authorized to sell pesticides. Okay, not funny, this warrants a phone call so I initiated a call and got someone on the phone. My problems are over I thought.
But no, the person just looked at the support ticket and then emailed me an application to sell pesticides. I called back and got someone else who was touting the company line when I interrupted and said “This is NOT a bug spray, it is a T-SHIRT, the word T-SHIRT is in the name of the product. I don’t want to sell in a new category I want to sell in the category I am already approved to sell in.”
Long pause, then a response “So, this is not a pesticide? I assured them it was not.
“Okay, I will need to send this up to another level of support for clarification”
Three days later and one follow up email on the still open ticket on my behalf stressing the topical nature of the product and all I have gotten in response from Amazon was that it was still being looked at.
Just another day in paradise, which is yet another way for me to say that all shows and events at Art Boutiki up to June 19th have been canceled or postponed. Please check our calendar for updates.
Thanks again for all of your support.
