Remember a few months back when we moved, we found some boxes of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac Posters that we printed a long time ago? The posters for issue #1 sold out a long, long time ago. Well, we had the digital equivalent happen this week when, as we were going through old hard drives seeing what was on them before we tossed them, we found the digital file for the Johnny #1 cover poster. So now we can offer this cool poster to you in MULTIPLE SIZES!
I know what you are asking, why is this one twice as much as the other two? Are we greedy jerks? No, just that we are printing these now and not offering something we printed almost 20 years ago like the other posters.
This is a reproduction of an old matchbook from an old tiki bar called The Jade Hula Shack in Oakland California. The art for this matchbook was scanned, digitally traced and then restored with some of the original colors changed to allow it to scale up to 24x36 inches in size with zero jagged edges and beatiful consistant color.
Not much is known about The Jade Hula Shack tiki bar, other than it closed sometime in the seventies and was a favorite hangout for sailors shipping out overseas.
The poster itself is printed on a 12 color large format plotter on bond paper and is suitable for framing. The print itself has a roughly quarter inch border around the edges to allow for easier framing.
The 11x17 version is a digital output not done on archival paper, the 13x19 paper is printed on watercolor style paper using an eight color printer with archival inks.
All prints are mailed rolled in a tube and shipped via USPS.
