The owner of the gone-but-not-forgotten Art Boutiki and author of the criminally ignored book My Diecast Life will appear and read at the California Writers’ first-ever Book Fair at the Sequoia Yacht Club in Redwood City. While I will have copies of My Diecast Life for sale at the event, I will be reading my short story Apple Fritters because all the best stuff in MDL will take longer than my allotted time to read.

But here’s a promise: if someone shows up and brings snacks and beers, I will read out in the parking lot after the event. Is there a parking lot? Maybe I will bring my pirate hat, and we will take over a yacht. These people may regret inviting me.
