Over the past several years, Bay Area native Sutton Marley has been making a name for himself as an up-and-coming drummer/bandleader with a passion for showcasing the musical tradition and language of bebop. Having performed with his own group at venues around the South Bay, Sutton will be making his debut (as a leader) at Art Boutiki and celebrating the release of his first album, Intention. Inspired by the instrumentation and sound of Grant Green's iconic album Street of Dreams, Intention is a feel-good presentation of classic standards featuring the wonderful playing of Smith Dobson, Adam Shulman, and Jack Tone Riordan.
Joining Sutton on stage for this special performance will be:
Smith Dobson - Vibraphone
Adam Shulman - Organ
Hristo Vitchev - Guitar
