SOFA Online Music Festival Sunday April 26th

Twice a year the SOFA street fair blankets downtown San Jose with a day of music, vendors, and fun. It is a terrific showcase of the creativity and energy that calls San Jose home. With everyone sheltering in place right now and big events canceled all over the country you could not be blamed if you thought SOFA was not happening this spring, or even this year.

But SOFA lives on in virtual form. Sunday, April 26th starting at 2:00 pm SOFA goes on as they present a Shelter in Place edition which will give you days worth of distractions from the ills of the world. Art Boutiki is not usually a participant in SOFA but we will be curating a stage for this virtual edition featuring some of the artists who had shows at our place canceled this month.

So head over to https://www.sofamusicfestival.com and search out the Art Boutiki channel for performance by

2:30 -Bo Mcdowell (from Stickup Kid)
3:30 - Jaake Margo (From Get Married)
.4:30 - Jokers and Thieves
5:30 - New Fossils
6:30 - Ghost Town Hangmen
7:30 - Slack Jawed Sons of Bitches - Steve Laflen
8:30 - Fragile D

Each artist will have a tip jar, so please leave a little something for each performer. These guys have had shows and gigs canceled so help them out a bit if you are able.

Best of all, Art Boutiki will be serving food for pick-up at our venue. Order online at https://artboutikicafe.square.site/ before the show and take it home to enjoy some of your favorite performers.

While you are at it, you can order a SOFA shirt from Art Boutiki to commemorate the event.

San Jose is way too cool a place to take something like a global pandemic keep it down. The spirit and energy in this virtual event is about more than just killing some time on a Sunday, it’s a statement, almost a call to arms, a battle cry that says that the new normal can stuff it WE decide what the new normal gets to be. We do this in a spirit that is truly San Jose, so join us tomorrow and rise up against the anger and frustration and fear that permeates our daily media consumption.

Join us on Sunday!
